KARHU ORIGINALS - NO TINY HANDS INVOLVED. Karhus from Finland were back then the most technical and highly valued sporting shoes among the professional athletes. So all the shoes, despite of their good looks, still have the 70's or 80's technical innovations in them. That's why walking with Karhu Originals is both mentally and physically good for body and soul. Another nice fact is that Karhu Originals are hand made in Europe. We have our own sample factory near the center of Helsinki in Hernesaari and to increase the volume most of our shoes are made in Parkano in the middle of Yläsatakunta, Finland. Also some of the styles are produced in Tallinn, Estonia, only 80 kilometres from Helsinki. The production method is quite rough, but we want to keep it that way, because we see the shoe making tradition in Europe disappearing. We want to make shoes to those people who appreciate the marks of roughness and handiwork in our products.
